Oil Metering Pump question?

I was just curious to know what the symptoms of a bad oil metering pump are? I would like someone to describe to me first what the symptoms are then ill describe my problem to see if it matches up. Is there a hesitaion/ loss of power?

A bad pump ,the electrical part , will give a code and the car will go into limp mode .

There isnt much mechanically that could easily fail, most commonly the lines could break. If that happens you will start to lose compression and certainly lose power and increasing difficulty to start. It likely wouldnt be a hesitation though.

ok well my problem is ( im not even sure if its a problem or not) that when I get to high rpm's the check engine light comes on, and I diagnosed the light to be a code 20 2 flashes "oil metering pump position sensor open or short circuit", but im not sure if it was 2 flashes or 1? and also, doesnt "limp mode" mean the car will run like crap? cause mine still pulls strong even when the light comes on. The CEL will go out if I turn the car off, and back on again. Maby a wiring problem for the CEL?? The harness seems kinda screwed up in some areas, but are unreachable without taking eveything apart
