Oil Metering Pump, Dead!

my omp just died. from what ive read premixing 2 stroke oil in the gas is a solution. my question is, how much do i put in each fill up? keep in mind the omp is dead so i should be putting more than the people that do this while the omp is functional, right?
thanks

Damn Brad, that blows. Nice to see that your car is running, though. I think it's somewhere around 12 oz per tank, but don't quote me on that. I use Marvel Mystery Oil on mine (with OMP), easily bought at Wall World. BTW what did you ever do about your turbos?

well, i just got threw installing a lower mileage set of turbos today. and when i crunk it up it threw the OMP code. so i added 12oz of 2 cycle oil to a full tank of gas. now its stuck in the limp home mode. i also noticed a oil leak around the primary turbo and wastegate actuator area, ran out of daylight to tell exactly where its coming from. question now is how do i get out of limp home mode now that the OMP is bad?

I think you have to put a resistor in the circuit, and maybe remove the pump. Then reset the ecu. The oil leak might not necissarily be coming from the turbos either.

Ouch, I feel for you. I had my OMP replaced under warranty earlier this year.

I had to wait 2 weeks for the part to arrive from Japan - $1500-1600 just for the part. About $600 for labor. Thank god for the warranty on that one.

Sometimes people sell their used ones, if that risk is acceptable to you.

A resistor will not work for the OMP circuit. There's a variable resistor, not unlike the TPS in the pump which reports back to the ECU the position of the pump.....SOOO you have to build a little circuit which would look at the commands to the OMP, then mimic those commands back to the ECU via the feedback circuit.

ok good news, the OMP is not bad. bad news, the problem is the wires that run to the OMP stepper motor got caught in a pulley and broke. they broke off right at the connector, maybe a 1/2in left sticking out of the connector. is there away to reinstall the wires into the electrical connector? or do i need to find a connector with enough of the wires sticking out to splice? man ive had the worse luck with this car!

How do you find out if your MOP or oil injectors are malfunctioning? A "check engine" light?

I dunno about the MOP connector, but the other connectors of the car pop open so you can pull the wires/terminals out. Examine the back (where the wires enter) of the connector carefully for a mechanism to open it up.
