Oil light on, oil full on dipstick

Hey guys, like the zillionth issue I've had with this car so far.

The oil level light (the light in the oil pressure gauge) comes on sporadically, sometimes at idle, sometimes at WOT and everywhere in between. In comes on sometimes for a few seconds, and other times for the whole time I'm driving.

Every single time I drive the car I check the oil level and always kept it at full. So not sure why this light keeps coming on... I don't know if its the sender thats bad. Its due for an oil change but otherwise the oil level is kept consistent.

I know the oil pressure sensor is funky sometimes but is there a common issue with the light thats common? Is it triggered by the same sender?

Oil level sensor is located in side of oil pan. Check where the wire comes out of the sensor on the drivers side of the pan I believe. And check the connector condition. If all the connections are good, then the level sensor is starting to spaz out.

The sensor is nothing but a simple float type switch. I fixed mine when it went bad the first time due to the wiring braking at the sensor. After the second time, I just removed it as an open wire does not give an alarm.

Early rotaries did not have the sensor. It is for IDIOTS that do not routinely check out their engine oil level. Running 100% premix or a external OMP tank make the sensor even more useless.

I have mine disconnected and just check my oil every time I drive it. No need to replace the sensor if you are mindful of maintenance.

Light is for the oil level sender. The actual gauge is pressure. I would recommend getting a new level sender instead of eliminating it. If cash is an issue a 2nd gen one is cheaper and the same except the connector, which you can change.

FC and FD use the exact same connector, just the wire length is longer on the FD. The FC sensor is listed at a higher price than the FD. (FC $136/ FD $126)

Unplug it and see if the light stops flickering, if it continues then you have a short between the sensor and warning light.

Is there some trick to getting the thing off? It seems to be stuck on both my motors and they just cut the wire on the new motor. Do I need to remove the oil pan or is it just the outter bolts?
