oil level sensor harness question..

If the wire/plug coming from the oil level sensor outside of the pan breaks off so close to the sensor that you can't solder a new one on, am I forced to get a new pan with the sensor in it already? There are 3 10mm bolts going into the sensor from the outside of the pan...when I remove those, it won't budge. Looking at my spare pan which is NOT on the car, it looks impossible to replace the sensor without replacing the pan...am I correct in this?

I have replaced the o-ring between the sensor and the pan, although that was performed out of the car. The sensor and the pan are 2 separate pieces.

I will examine it further. It must just be stuck in place.

It has an o-ring seal.
