Oil Leak! oh no!

I have a pretty bad oil leak but i dont know where it's coming from, I have some pics here. Any Ideas?

It looks like the Oil Pan Seal... HELP!!

Another question, my coolant seems to like to disappear on it's own. Can you guys also help me there?

You need to find the most forward/up point where there is oil. The oil pan gasket is a popular leak area, but so is the front cover and other things.

As for the missing coolant, take the car to a rotary shop and have them check the coolant system for leaks.

Get the coolant problem diagnosed first. It could be a leaking coolant seal which will require an engine rebuild. It would be a waste to go to the trouble and expense of fixing the oil leak only to find that the engine will have to be taken out of the car and rebuilt (or a reman unit installed.)

Check the turbos. That's where mine seem to be leaking from.

I would just pull the motor and do a complete rebuild with all these problems. you will probably spend more money diagnosing and fixing the individual problems. buy some good used turbos off the forum if your short on money and then you will know the car is solid.

I had an oil leak on top of the engine. The oil pooled up below the oil injectors and would run down the front/back of the engine during brakeing/acceleration. Burned off on the exhaust manifold and cast a fine oily mist on the firewall. I went nuts checking the car a dozen times on the lift before I discovered this while changing my fuel injectors.

It's been a couple months since I cleaned and tightened my oil injectors and I haven't had the leak return.

...damn, didn't you notice he big oily spot on the driveway? ...looks like it's been leaking for a while.

...steam clean it...then drive it around a bit...see where it starts to leak.

Oil Leak

We had the same problem...
change the oil gasket and get a
new oil plan.

Also it may be a rear gasket leak
change the rear gasket and O ring.

I hope you didn't just buy this car...

Don't get a rebuild until a competent rotary shop confirms the coolant seal issue. If your coolant is getting lost by another way (leaky hose, bad rad cap) then fix the coolant issue and leaky oil pan. But if your engine needs a rebuild, no point doing a whole lot in the engine bay before the rebuild.
