Oil leak, could this be my cause

So lookin around trying to find my oil leak. The entire subframe is covered. Seems to focus on the drivers side.

Heres what im focusing on:

Oil cooler lines.

The one that mounts on the front of the motor is covered in oil, the one right next to it has not a drop on it. So it seems like that would indicate my leak is coming directly from that banjo fitting for the oil line on the front of the motor. Especially since that is the furthest forward there is any oil.

But the fact taht theres oil EVERYWHERE down there makes me wonder if taht could really be it and i cant exactly test my theory since my ppf and differential are dropped.

So basically, could that banjo fitting leaking cause an oil leak like described. Wanna know before i jump headfirst into it

after further inspection that doesnt seem to be it. It only seems to leak when the motor is running, ive been sitting under it for like 30 minutes and not a drop. So its something with the pressurized system. The omp is covered, but the main leakage seems to be on the drivers side not passenger side, so i have no idea, and i cant start it with only a downpipe on, soo....

Yeah, you're gonna have to clean everything up best you can and start it to find the leak. Pretty much all leaks will only happen with the motor running, or with the car driving (as in an oil pan gasket leak, the oil sloshing in the pan leaks out).

I hate oil leaks .

Could be front cover gasket if you are seeing it on both sides of the front cover. I had a fd catch on fire one time due to this on a trip back from FL when I bought it. The pulleys/belts slung the oil onto the turbos and it caught fire.

You can pressurize the oil system by cranking the car over with the EGI fuse pulled out. Crank the car for 20-30 seconds and it should build about 20-30psi of oil pressure. That will tell you if it is the banjo fitting or not, obviously you need to thoroughly clean the area before doing this. I have seen leaks from everywhere on these cars due to people making small mistakes during re-installs of the engine. However, it sounds possible you have a front cover gasket failure. Those are a PITA, especially if you still have your A/C.

Good Luck

A pretty common leak on the driver's side is the o-ring at the base of the oil filler neck. When oil seeps out from there it will cover everything below including the whole subframe.
