oil leak

found out were my oil leak is coming from. The rear main seal. Does the motor have to come out to change it.

how do you know that? did you take off your transmission? or just process of elimination?

wash underneath it, drove it, put it on the rack, and saw it coming from the middle of the motor, at the back, and up, and my oil pan is leaking also.

rear main, either trans or engine needs to come out....i just replaced mine on saturday (with the clutch). I can't tell if that was my leak or it's my oil pan, but we'll see in the morning, since i just got it all back together an hour ago.
