Oil leak

I can't tell where from it appears to be on the drivers side rear bottom of the engine. It is not a fast leak, but I do have a small puddle everytime I live it overnight. The engine was rebuilt 9k ago. I am new to RX7's so no newbia bashing please. I just want some info on what to look for or at. The car still runs great and strong.
Thanks for any help on what to look for.

Its possible it could be your rear main seal. This is a seal behind the flywheel in the transmission. If this seal is the problem, you'll probably notice a small to moderate about of smoke comming from under the car after driving for a while.

You can look at the oil pan but you should take it back to where the rebuild was done. Even the cheapest Mazda rebuild has a 12mo/12k mi warranty.

A guy in St. Louis thought he had an oil leak this past weekend so we all went to take a look at it. It turns out he put 5 1/2 quarts of oil the last time he did an oil change and it was coming out of the seams.

I will check for smoke after my next drive. The engine was rebuilt in Oct. 01 I will check to see if any warrenty's left. As for the oil change I just changed the oil and did not over fill. Since my oil change however it has not leaked as bad. I am not sure what the guy I got the car from used, but I used VR1 20w50. Thanks for your help.

I think that is what happened to me. I'll know for sure tomorrow. Even a Mazda dealer doesn't see that many RX-7's and they can easily mistake your model for an R2 and add an extra quart. But when they tell you to buy a new engine because they are incompotent ...well that's why Mazda "lost their ***" (as the reviewers put it) on rebuilds!
