Question Oil Leak?

I don't know if this happens with other people's RX-7 but when I turn on my engine it raddles a little on idle then you smell a little oil burning but it goes away after about 20mins. Is this normal? I opened my hood to check it out and little smoke comes up with the sent of oil burning. I don't think its a leak since it goes away after about 20min. What do you guys think? If it is a leak would it cost a fortune to fix?

How do you figure the oil gets out to burn if it isn't a leak It certainly doesn't sound like a major leak though.

Mine leaks like a sieve, from a few places, the worst of which being the motor mount bolts. I've had to name the car "Puddles" until I get around to sealing the mount.

Cheers,

Hmmm if its a leak I dont think its possible to patch since its gonna melt down from the heat but I'm just curious if its going to be expensive.

I think you're going to have to figure out where the leak is before anyone can give you an idea of what it will cost to fix it. Most oil leaks are cheap to fix, but some are really expensive (turbo housing). You'll have to find it first.

Good luck,
