Oil in intercooler pipe? and other stuff
anyone know whats making all this oil go in the intercooler? I also have a boost problem, I just started only getting 5psi and its normaly 13, and I can hear a whole lot of air coming from under the hood, could this be why? I took alot of parts off today and couldnt find anything that was loose/broke, heres a link to some pics I just took....

Your y-pipe coupler could be loose. It is a very common location for boost leaks. You really have to take it off to check for a hole.
That amount of oil doesn't look excessive to me. I've seen many FDs with that much oil. I wouldn't worry unless you have another symptom of oil consumption, smoke out the exhaust, adding lots of oil, etc.

You want to see oil in your intake system? Look in the bottom of the intercooler. You'll think it needs a drain-off valve.
To answer your question, oil in the intake system could come from one of 2 sources.
A) Your turbocharger(s) seals are leaking or,
B) Crankcase ventalation.
Pull of the pipe/bend/neck on the intake of the primary turbo. If there's alot of oil in it, then it's your crankcase venting (when is someone going to make an Oil filler neck with baffles to prevent oil from being sucked into the engine?)
With the neck off, you can also check the primary turbo for play now. If there is any play parallel to the axis of rotation, start looking for new turbos.

If it's crankcase ventilation causing the prob (and it most likely is) you can get an oil catch can installed. This prevents the oil going into the intake.
Oil in the intake is bad because it will coat the insides of your I/C and reduce the effectiveness of it. Catch cans are fairly cheap and easy mods to do as well.
As for the boost leak... Isn't it a common prob on 3rd gens with all those vacuum lines controlling the sequential turbos? Just check all the lines thoroughly for cracks.
