Oil Filter content/orientation

Just changed the oil this evening. Noticed something strange of which concerns me... as I have not seen this before. Upon removing the filter, a decent amount of oil spilled out of the filter. Considering its orientation and the countless number of times I've changed the oil, puzzled as to why it still contains a substantial amount of oil ...regardless of having done the change with a cold engine...am I just paranoid ? ...and no, it was not my first step, oil filler cap /drain bolt were off ....Oil pressure from the idiot gauge is normal. Baffled.

the stock(i hope its atleast stock and not a FRAM) filters have an anti drain back system or something like that. use the search button though. there was just a few posts like that. try OIL FILTERS. simple enough.
