Oil Cooler hoses kinking

Okay, so i have an oil cooler hose on my motor and when i try to attach it to the oil cooler it always kinks no matter which way i try and connect it. The long one is fine its just the short one that is giving me problems, it seem to me that it is way to long and thats why its kinking, about an inch or two too long. So i was wondering if anyone has tried to short these lines before and if its even possible wihtout damaging the whole line. Oh, and these oil hoses and the oem ones, not aftermarket. If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated, Thanks

is the motor imported? chances are your motor came with the hoses for dual oil coolers , and you have a single oil cooler setup.
