Oil Bypass Valve - Eccentric Shaft
For all the engine builders out there -
What are the thoughts on putting in the stock oil bypass valve back in vs. using the Atkins modification pellet?
Is it woth doing or the stock thermostat is OK? How often does it fail? What is everyone running?
I tried to search, but couldn't find anything on this topic that I thougth of great value.
Thanks

Warming the planet.
The thermal pellet is only there for emission reasons, it cuts pressure to the rotor cooling oil jets when the motor is cold to speed warm-up. Although they are reliable, if it does fail open the rotors will quickly over heat and kill the oil seal o-rings. There is no reason not to replace it with a plug or modify the stock one to stay closed.

What's the mod to keep it open? I found one for the 2nd gen (grinding part of a bolt down to put into the bolt) Are the dimensions the same for the 3rd gen?
Last think I want is to modify it and turn the sprayers off.
