Oil from blowoff valve when driving on a track.

Hi

A hile ago i drove on an open track, it was warm and sunny outside and i did alot of laps in a single run. I took a cooling lap and when i got in i let the car stand with the engine running for awhile. I stood and talked to a guy when suddenly i saw smoke coming from the engine bay. It turned out that oil was leaking out through the blowoff valve when i was on the track and the inside of the hood was wet and it had started dripping onto the turbos as i stood there.

A man that knows much about turbos that was with me at the time said that the turbos seals might be worn out, im thinking of removing the turbos just to check them out, but i wanted opinions from here before i do the complicated and time consuming( time that i dont have alot of) process of taking them out.

Ive rebuilt a lot of turbo's,,, generally that starts to happen when the seals on the compressor side are starting to leak, lots of turbos start to do this with age. if you hadnt a dump valve you probably really wouldnt have noticed it until they got really bad in which case the exaust would have started to smoke. (if you have the time and patience you could repair the seals yourself with a repair kit,,,would be cheaper aswell)

It's not a turbo problem. This is a common problem with track driven FD's. Check this thread for more info:

im not 100% sure i beleive that theory of oil up the filler kneck,,,, surely the vacume from the PCV valve would suck all that oil straight into the engine,, why would it end up back at the compressor side?

It's in the link above:
