oh well, looks as though the FD's gonna go

Well since the birth of my daughter 7 months ago I have strived and struggled to justify hanging onto my FD but I'm afraid doing the shopping and dropping her off at day-care is becoming increasingly impractical ( although some of the day-care worker girls do give me some good looks when I pull up) .
So I've decided to look at this as an oppurtunity to get myself something family/performance so I can still enjoy day -to-day practical functions and weekend boost - fun (fast driving) .

After much deliberation I have settled on a Subaru Legacy station wagon, 1996 twin-turbo 206kws, volk wheels, body kit and a few other extras. The guy selling it is local and I've already seen it and had a drive, its actually pretty fast

Its a start and its only $10,500 so after I sell my FD I'm gonna have extra cash leftover, maybe I'll take a holiday

check the pics of the Subi--->

I was gonna say you could get more for the baby girl than the FD so theres one reason to hang on to the FD and sell the girl

Seriously though, enjoy your new car.

I'd probably have to go WRX to get that, that means peroxiding my hair getting those yellow Ali-G style glasses and a full set of tough - stickers ( tattos ).

I'd be more keen to drop an Sti into the Legacy and .........

Sorry to hear that, its always hard to give up a car you love. You can always buy one in the future, family comes first. Good luck with everything.

Yeah, keep the nuts and sell the girl

Nah, seriously, if you can afford it, keep the FD and get a cheap DD ...

You'll appreciate the FD even more if you only drive it occasionally...

If it was my decision to make, I would buy a cheap but "safe" DD, keep the FD, insure them both on the same policy, make the FD the recreational vehicle (less than 7500 miles a year) and your insurance will stay in check, and then take the FD out on the weekends. That is what I do. DD for work and the grocery store, FD for the weekend.

It only hurts a little to drive something less than stellar when you know you have an FD sitting at home waiting for ya!

Life comes first.... Those Subie's (even Wagon's) can be pretty darn quick. I have a friend who has one and it whips most of the cars at the track:

If you do get and would like some performance mods for the car, the ower of the wagon above owns this place: http://www.dpeweb.com/

Great replacement. Family always comes first, we can't all afford to have a family car and a toy. You should still have fun with that subie

Hey spekdah, when are you planning on selling the car? I know a couple people who are currently looking for FDs so could be interested!

Pics? dezigns@[rx7.co.nz] (remove the braces)
