Officially a mamber of the "Money Pit" club

Well.....after lurking on here for quite a while and doing my homework on the in's and out's of the 3rd gen RX-7....I finally got my entry car into the "Money Pit" club. How ironic that my last name IS Money.

93 5 spd Touring with 40,640 miles on the clock! Full records, all ownership (2 owners) kept within one family. Even comes with replaced interior pieces courtesy of Mazda back in 94-95. The car even has 3 of the original tires still on it! Yikes. Picked it up for 17,500.

First stop, fuel filter (replaced a year ago), tires, AST, sparkplugs, and downpipe.

I'd post pics of the engine bay but it's filthy. Already started working on it and noticed that even though I'm 31, I'm getting old as my back is hurting from being cramped over in the engine bay for an hour.

Anyways, I PROMISE to search first, then search some more, and then search even more before asking questions.

Thanks everybody!!

Yep....it's always good to have a nice baseline to start off with.

Had the car checked out by Seth at Pure Sports here in San Diego (Ramona) and he gave it a clean bill of health on compression, vacuum lines, wiring harness, brakes, etc.... He spent 2 hours going through the car and didn't find anything wrong with it. Paint has issues but nothing a real good professional detail job can't fix.

Oh yeah....does anybody know why..... Just kidding!!!

Glad to be here and hopefully I can contribute to this forum like I did in my previous forums by organizing and performing tests like this SR20DET Radiator and Fan Test Page. Even though that testing was done on SR20DET's, there may be some info in there that can help my fellow FD owners out (especially those in the warmer sections of the country).

Thanks again, and it's good to be here!
