OFFICIAL "List your airflow mods" thread...
I continually have questions myself and see others posing the same topics such as:
-Is it okay to run without an airpump and with a cat?
-Will I boost creep with a midpipe?
-If I have a stock intake, 3"DP, gutted cat, HKS CB, can I still run the stock ECU?
I figure that if we can get a thread in which you post your personal setups (i.e. what intake, dp, cat or no cat, catback, stock IC/aftermarket, stock twins, airpump, fuel compensation, port and how long you have been running your setup) then a person with a question similar to the ones above can search that thread to find someone with a setup either similar or just like the setup they are about to pose a thread about. Then, instead of making a new thread, they can PM that person for more info and to share their thoughts.
MY setup:
stock intake, 3" DP, gutted stock cat, hks carbon/ti CB, ported WG, no ACV, disabled/blocked off airpump
I have only used this setup for about 2 miles, so I don't have feed back. I am seriously contemplating putting a high flow cat on, but I have heard mixed reviews on how long it will last without the airpump. I have a stumbling at about 1500 RPM at constant throttle which may be the lack of airpump.

If you search around your car car should be fine as long as it does not exceed 10psi, you gutted your cat and have no airpump your fine. You might boost creep with a midpipe I would say yes you more then likely will but every car is different.
I've got an HKS dp, mid pipe (catless), racing beat catback, HKS intakes, street port, stock I/C (front mount on the way), stock ECU, Air pump still in place, stock twins.
So far no spikes, no creeps, runs strong with normal boost pattern.

i have 99spec turbos, RE-A SMIC, HKS RS intake, ebay SS downpipe, SMB metallic substrate cat with resonator, St. May Shotgun cat back. Air pump is removed and blocked off. Managed by PowerFC @ 12 psi. no spike/creep

guttered Cat is very povo plus you are adding to air pollution for an extra few kws! Put a hiflow cat in and keep it legit.

come on man, to each his own...doesn't mean he can't afford it. Don't turn this into a bashing fest.
I was wondering, if I put a high flow cat would I pass smog without the air pump?

The air pump is operating but the small pipe that was attached to the original cat is disconnected from the motor, but the pump is still working. I've read somewhere on here that the pump is pumping air somewhere else besides the cat. Honestly, I just haven't gotten around it yet. I'm going to finish with my fuel pump install, than the I/C than I'll deal with the air pump. That's going to be a pain in the back side because I have to pass smog inspection every year (I swap the mid pipe with the stock cat for the time it takes to pass the inspection).

very cool...just goes to show nothing is gospel as far as air mods go. You might still pass emissions...that is hard to tell for sure though, ya know? so, just to clarify, you have the airpump connector plugged in and have the hoses still connected EXCEPT for the one that goes to the cat? Did you remove and block off the ACV?

All hoses are in place except for the one that goes to the cat and the connector is still connected, I'm not too worried about passing emissions right now as I have a year till my next test.
No, ACV is still in place, I didn't do anything to it yet.

How hot does that SMB metallic substrate cat get with the airpump removed?
