OEM FogLight Removal

I've done some searching, and come up kinda short handed. I found a wiring diagram of the Factory Foglight system. It looks kinda complicated from what im seeing. I want to remove EVERYTHING that has to do with the factory FogLight system. Starting from the interior button, working my way to the Fogs themself. I guess i could just follow the wires, and take out all the relay system and everything. Any suggestions/comments? Has anybody done this? Im replacing them with the Catz XLO lights...so i'll put the switch it came with in the factory position. Somebody let me me know, or better yet, a right-up would be helpful, that way in can be archived if anybody has the time. Thanks, Aaron.

No. Why don't you just upgrade to PIAA bulbs?

Removed them only to open up air flow to the nose. Left the switch for a fan mod.

First off, I haven't seen a difference between water temps with the fog lights off or on the car. I added JDM foglights to my R2, and had identical water temps before and after.

That said, you have to get a little dirty to remove the foglights. If you want to just remove the lights themselves, that's easy - 1 10mm bolt directly above the light itself, and they come right out. To get the bracket itself off, you HAVE to remove the nose of the car. There's no way to get to it otherwise. It's not that bad of a job, though.

With the foglights and brackets off, there's a short harness that goes between each foglight and plugs into a 2-wire connector in the bumper area - remove that harness, and that's it. The rest of the harness is on all cars and it's built into the main front body harness.

I actually plan to put an NOS oem set on my r2. Found them in a very bizzare way. As the nose needs a new squirt I figured spring would be a good time. Bought a nice relay and an oem dash switch and found the harness for the front. I need to still build a couple of clips and loom it all in but it is nice to know that it will not impact temp. Will get the pIAA bulbs as I want it bright.

I dont want PIAA blubs...because i bought a complete CATZ replacement system. They come with thier own setup, harness, switch, relay, wires, the works. I just wanted to remove everything to get it out of the way. I thought about wiring up the catz along with the stock ones, but it wouldnt look good with the stock bumper. I just thought it would be a little more proper to remove the entire system, rather than just the bracket and harness alone. I might even use the stock switch to power them, just have to splice into the existing wires.
