Question OEM console switches for Fan Mod?

I was wondering if anyone is using the Rear Wiper or Fog Light switch for a radiator fan mod or as an intercooler fan switch instead.

I own an R1 so I don't currently have either switch to study.

Other than the graphics on the switches, are they the same?

Are they spring loaded like the rear defrost switch? Or do they stay depressed when you push them.
The Rear Defrost switch wont work because all it does is trigger the relay when you press it & doesn't stay depressed.

Anyone have any switches for sale, other than the dealer?

Thanks,

Fog light switch stays depressed ...

I am making a mould this w.end for OEM style switches, once that's complete I will be making cf switches with leftover carbon while working on other projects.

Thumbs up

Cool, keep me posted.

Does the Rear Wiper switch work like the rear defrost switch? Just spring loaded & operates a relay???

the rear wiper switch is located where the regular wiper switch is at, on the right side of the stearing column. I believe if you turn it 1 way it is "spring loaded," and if you turn it the other way, it stays.
Just an FYI in case you thought the rear wiper switch is located on the center console like the defrost and fog light switches...
Another FYI, i believe there is a writeup somewhere to make the defroster switch work w/ the fan mod--was on the 'big list,' about a year ago.

Laters!

Question

I checked my parts list CD & it shows the fog light & sunroof switch as the same P/N.

Is the sunroof switch on the console?( again I have an R1 so IM ignorant).

Is it a single position switch that stays depressed or does it toggle back & forth?

The sunroof switch is located between the interior lights and is not the same switch as the fog light switch. I'm also trying to decide what kind of switch I want to install in the center switch position of the console. The more it looks OEM the better IMHO.
