Question odometer + wiring harness

I've never checked the mileage on my car due to the wiring harness being off the car. I'm told I can display the mileage without the ECU but with the wiring harness rigged up.

Is this true? If so, what do I need to do to see the mileage/view the odometer? With the wiring off the car now, the box is illuminated just no numbers...

You need to run a ground wire off the top tach screw. This is the main ground for the cluster and runs through the harness all the way to the engine underneath the intake manifold.

Ignore the MAP sensor signal.

I have the same problem, and I know it has to be somewhere by the ECU /kick panel. I just don't know which wire is the ground for the speedo. speedo went out when I switched to PFC.
