Angry Odometer is out/broken/off!! End all thread!

Ive searched the forum extensively for solutions and none of them seem to have a final answer. I know this problem has happened to a good amount of owners including myself. The problem is especially bad for me because I am selling the car and would like to see my ~60,000 original miles still listed.

Anyhow, the problem im talking about is when the odomoter mileage cannot be read at all. Shining a light on it with the ignition on does not show anything. The box is lite up so bulbs are the like are not the issue. Speedometer and all other guages work as they should.

The most often stated solution is to replace the guage cluster (which sucks bad). How much have people spent from mazda to do this? (Does anyone have a cluster for sale with between 55,000-65,000 miles on it, for me?)

Is this the only thing to do at this point? Has anyone actually tried to fix the LCD system? Is it possible? Any other solutions out there?

My '93's odometer also doesn't work, I just bought the car but the lady says it has 120,000 on it. Any fixes?

I have the same problem. I have a new gauge which I have not been able to change out yet. I tried getting my gauge pod out, but ended up carcking it when I was trying to get those 3 back clips to release. I am probally going to work on it this week. I will post with results.

...as far as the mileage....In California when a car is smogged, the tech records the mileage. ..if you still have the emissions paperwork show this to the buyer.

Is the mileage stored in the OBD I computer?

As far as I have gathered, the mileage is not stored anywhere else besides the unit itself...unfortuantely.
