Odd ignition cut at 3K RPM - Help?
First off, I tried searching but my problem was not answered, so bare with me.
Car: 1992 J-Spec FD, automatic, stock everything except BOV.
Problem: As soon as I hit boost around 2K RPM, the car spools and then ROUGHLY stops and backfires as if the fuel and air is not being burned, and I mean MASSIVE backfires.
Details: I've read up and know that the FD is known to have a bad ground around 3K RPM, I have that fixed since I have a grounding kit for it. I figured my plugs were due after 5K miles and so I changed them. Problem persists. So now I'm thinking it's the coil packs, but I have no clue on how to check if they are still good since this is the first car with CP I have, all previous had disty's.
I know I'm getting feul, else I'd be running lean and "pinking" or knocking, which I'm not.
I know I'm getting air since the turbos spool and there is no backfires until I hit full boost.
So I'm left at "no spark". Any help wold be greatly appreciated.
Please no "learn to search" as I have searched and have not found a clear answer.
Thanks.

No I haven't, but do you think that it could just suddenly go out of whack? It was running fine, I turned it off, came back an hour later and this problem started.
EDIT - oh yeah, one more thing, it only does it when I'm in gear (drive, 2 or 1) On neutral or park, it revvs fine, so it's only under load that I have this issue

So, I checked it again, after unplugging the battery in case it was the ECU having a brain fart and it didn't change anything. Not cool
