octance gas

is it necessary to run at least 93 octane gas in your FD?.. also does anyone in this forum drive their car, not run but just daily drive their car with less than 93 octance?... i know that the octance level has to do something with detonation, interested to learn... thanks....

use nothing but the highest you can get in your region and stick with it. your fd needs it. turbocharged engines all need high octane. . . that is it. . . period.

there are some interesting threads on the forum about octane. . .. just do a search and youre bound to find something. have fun.

turbo charged engines must use 93 octane gas because it burns slower. Cheap gas has a tendency to explode with out a spark when under pressure.

Bad for piston engines, Deadly for rotarys..
never use anything lower than 93 octane.

Your owner manual says 91 is min. Obviously, 92 or 93 is better but us Californians will have to settle for the min. If you are at a higher altitude, you're less prone to knocking even if you use lower octane.
