Question OBX Header - Aftermaket Header Discussion

Ran across this while perusing eBay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1874914929

Specs according to posting:
- 61 MM PIPE DIAMETER
- EACH PIECE HAND MADE -
- CAN HANDLE UP TO 400 HP
- 3/8 FLANGES
- TIG WELDED
- ALL STAINLESS 304
- 100 % LIFETIME GUARANTEE

Did a search and really didn't find anything but a reference to "ricey." Anyone use this product? Quality/durability issues? It seems very cheap which has me...well, very concerned.

Also, I rarely see discussions on aftermarket headers for the 3rd Gen, so I'm a bit at a loss for information. Any discussion of this point would be great.

Would this header (or other brand) produce any noticable improvements in performance and/or heat efficiency?

Any feedback is appreciated. Here are some linked pictures:

Thanks in advance,
Eggman.

i have one, its a great manifold design, similar to the FEED manifold. fully divided, tig welded, the exhaust runners are huge compared to the apexi manifold i had, but mine DOES NOT fit. i'll have to open the holes on the exhaust flange. its goes in about halfway on 3 studs. Also the piping is thin compared to the apexi manifold. i could of hit the apexi with a hammer and it wouldn't dent, but this one will. i'm worried that it might crack from the heat of a rotary. i will post pics soon, with it on the engine.

Eggman, You are aware that this requires an aftermarket single turbo, right? You can not buy an aftermarket 'header' that will bolt to an FD's stock turbos, because the stock manifold has an actuator in it to divert exhaust flow. Usually there isn't a lot of discussion because most people buy their single turbo as part of a kit that includes an exhaust manifold. Only a few people experiment with manifolds after they get their turbo, so the discussion is limited. The workmanship looks excellent from the photos, but if it doesn't fit as the reply above states out, what's the point?

Tyson - Thanks for the information ("You can not buy an aftermarket 'header' that will bolt to an FD's stock turbos, because the stock manifold has an actuator in it to divert exhaust flow"). I did NOT know this. Still much to learn about the RX7 as I am a new owner.

If there are any aftermarket headers which incorporate this feature, please advise.

Thank you,
Eggman.

Someone brought up this exhaust manifold in the single turbo section last week or so. Wasn't too much discussion on it as simply no ones really had it or put it to use yet.

They should state that it's only for single turbos as I'm sure there are a couple people thinking of buying it that don't know much about their car.

I think it's a great price and looks to be well made. But I too was concerned about fitment when I first heard about it so I think I'll wait to see who trys it out and what they have to say about it.

No there are no aftermarket headers/manifolds for the stock twin turbos.
