OBD I, I assume?
Given the age of our cars, I assume that the On Board Diagnostic system is I, not II?
I've been thinking about buying a code scanner such as the Innova 3120 or Autel eu702 due to the fact I tend to buy and keep 'older' cars from time to time. But from what I can tell, the earliest OBD systems don't 'read' on these code scanners.

You could call it OBD I. It flashes codes by jumpering a connector, just like most other fuel injected car of that era. There's no diagnostic connector under the driver side dash. There is one under the hood, but it only works with a proprietary scantool.
