o2 sensor installation?

I have a universal Bosh o2 sensor and understand how to attach it to the existing wire. I do not understand how to get the old sensor out of the manifold it is not to tight I just can't get at it. I'm the proud new owner of a beautiful 7 and want to keep it in the best condition.

An O2 socket with a wobbly extention or a u-joint adaptor works for me. On second thought, do you still have the stock pre-cat? I would have to look to see if that is much worse.

check the sticky at the top for new owners.

the short answer is to replace the precat with a downpipe, and install a fresh O2 sensor in the downpipe.

I get to the precat sensor using a O2 sensor socket. However, I've got to remove all air box hoses to do so.

If you want to remain stock... get an OEM o2 or one that will mate up with the existing connector... otherwise you will have to splice....

If you want to increase reliability by decreasing engine temps, replace the DP - get more hp, and replace the 02 at the same time...

Thumbs up

It's good to see a new owner asking reasonable questions ... that is questions that don't revolve around how to push the engine to 400HP, etc.
