I say "The reason you have low end torque is cause you NEED it to move that 3500 lbs boat".
Dont give me that gas mileage crap either. on my last engine I got 16-18 city and 23-25 highway. thats more than enough. If I wanted gas mileage I'd get a civic.
Take your V8 and drink it.
I understand your skepticism. Being a software engineer, you must find the contemplation of doing anything mechanical which involves ingenuity and MECHANICAL engineering to be daunting. However, keep an eye on Mizereau and his efforts with his 408 86 base FC. His boat may not make 2500 lbs but it will not have the virtue of an aluminum block engine.
My point is that a well modded aluminum block V8 equipped FC or even FD would pull like a frieght train, hence my ruminating on my thoughts of an LS1 earlier on in the thread. Sorry to maule this discussion like a red winged blackbird. Look, I am all for porting the rotary. Look at my handiwork in my sig, all freestyle based on my own research and steady hand.

Rick tuned your PFC?
Did rick DYNO tune youe car? When talked to him he said that he simply had maps. Once my motor is installed and broken-in, I will have to find someone to tune my PFC in the bay area.

I guess Dynamic Motorsports (SAC) is getting started in it, but who wants to be a guinea pig.....
I think we all need to seriously consider flying Steve Kan in to tune our cars.....of course, I'd prefer waiting until I have a few more mods...

FYI, on my last setup rick tuned it, shiv dynoed it and the a/f was 11:1. So its pretty good, imo.

2650 - 2500 = 150lbs
2712 - 2480 = 232lbs
Did you have a point?
It's amazing how the only thing people seem to be able to "take away" from the v8-FD's is the weight thing..... and in most cases, the v8's are lighter than the 13B-REW cars. Wow, so I get MORE hp, MORE tq, and LESS weight??? Gee, that almost sounds like a good thing until you let some narrow-minded computer jockey tell you it's not.

that sounds like a good deal. is it 90 for tuning, or for the hour. i really need some fine tuning. if its just 90 my car will be up there in about a week or so. i emailed rick also, i would like to see what else he offers. what are average setting to turn the fans on at, or would rick have the best answer for that? i should just PM you and ask you all this. nice car man

He charges 90 to tune it, not per hour, just 90. He will have the car for most of the day. He had put several base maps in my car before he had it right. So he takes his time and gets it right. but call rick first www.ricksrotary.com or www.rx7fashion.com.
Also Kris, I have my fans come on a 90 C, the stock is 108!!!!
