Your friend needs to talk to Steve Kan (Pluto) or give Rotary Performance a call, they both run 50 shot on the drag strip, but from what I have read, 50 shot is the biggest you want to go on an Rx-7, and you definitly have to compensate for it in the computer.

If you guys think that a 50 shot of NOS is all you can put on a turbo rotary, you guys need to wake up. Alot of this once again comes to tuning, and how much boost you wanna run in accordance to the size of the backhousing on the turbo. The reason for this is because once you start to use NOS on a turbo rotary it spins exhaust side of the turbo at such a higher rate, that the backhousing of the turbo needs to be big so that it can keep up with the exhaust pulses, if it's not big enough, it will it will cause the turbo to overspin beyond it's efficiency and just make the intake temp. skyrocket, and therefore causing no HP gains, and/or detonation due to the intake temp being so high. Plus you also have to retard timing to a certain extent when using NOS and how much timing retard depends on how much NOS you're using(I'm not even gonna get into that). I see some guys using 100 shot or more of NOS at the track with no problems because they have the tuning correct, and that means EVERYTHING when it comes to reliability, and making HP w/o blowing up. Just my 2 cents.
