Normal or NOT

I have my car in a body shop for three weeks now. The guy working on my FD say he rarely turns on my car. He'll turn it on just to move it but never let it warm up. Just today I went and checked up on the progress of my car and I decided to turn on the engine and listen to it. Well it started smoking really bad. Non Stop smoking. Is this due to because I haven't been driving it. ??

Normally it'll just start up and smoke during the 3 thousand RPM and wont smoke anymore. Right now it's non stop smoking. Even when it's fully warm.
Help!!

Drive it before you worry about it. It probably just needs to be driven to clear it out.

Sitting around in a body shop, you'll get all kinds of crap in the exhaust (sanding dust gets EVERYWHERE). Him cold-starting the car over and over again is also VERY not helpful.

Wait until it gets out of the body shop and you've driven it a bit to really worry about a problem.

What you wanna bet, that the jackass probably, took it out and about
to the drag strip/street races and etc. and ended up over heating
and blew the coolant seals..

Because after the start up and warm up, DOES it continuesly BLOW smoke??
You should let it run until its clears up and if it doesnt.
its time for a new motor or rebuild..

If the *** hole did that, then prove it some how. Check miles, Tire tread depth, gas and even **** marks on the seats. The shop would own you a rebuild and labor. Very unlikly but it could happen.

Example (True Story too) Before my buddy and I knew what the hell about rotaries, his Haltech thrird gen was acting up. He took it to Hayes (they suck) and they couldn't figure it out. They thought it was electrical. So they sent him to their electrical shop. They pulled the aftermarket ECU replaced it with a stock and went boosting around town. They called him and said it runs fine with the stock ECU and we think your problem is with the FCD or the Haltech. He was pissed. You did what and boosted. You Mother F...Kers. He ran out to get the car out of there hands and he took it back to Hayes. He had them pull the ECU and FCD out to send out for fixing. Nothing was wrong with the Haltech but the FCD wass acting up. Still unsure what the problem was an how the FCD was causing it. Ether way they reinstalled it and went to start the car. This was the first time they started it sence it came back from the electrical shop. Noticed the coolant was low and the car was smoking white sweat smoke. They ran a compression test and found that it was leaking. The electrical shop poped the motor when they were testing it. We know this becasue the cars motor was checked about a month prior to the electrical shop even touching it. And it was good. This was done just as a time stamp and to mointor engine health over time. Hayes headed the charge and made them pay for the rebuild (thats one good thing I can say about Hayes).

You never know what happens. I had a buddy that worked at a body shop when he was a teenager. Took a porsche 911 to show off (owners didn't know about this) He crashed the car. He was afraid to show his face at work again, so he left town.

I would pull the ECU...why give them the temptation.

but before you leave the shop with the car I would check the compression that way you can eliminate the worst case scenerio. ALSO make sure you document EVERYTHING! Borrow someones camcorder if you have to. Good luck!

BTW my car sat at the body shop for 3-4 months with a brand new engine. I had the ECU at home. Plug it in and it started and ran perfectly...no smoke...no drama.

okay,
And no they cant' take it out for driving. When I left, I took off my back lights and I'm always there too. They are great guys. I know I can trust them.
I think it just need some good warm up and driving around. CAuse after 10 mins. Smoke started dissappearing. Then No more smoke. But When revving, it'll puff gray or somewhat smoke out... Thats really odd. Never done that before. Rev it again and still puff out smoke. Grayish smoke. The car idles perfect. Engine sounds normal. Just the smoke that is acting up. I also Checked the Map Sensor. Everything is tight and Okay. But tomorrow I'll take it for a test drive around town and see what happens... Hopefully because it was there for a month without any good start up and warm up that's why...
