Non seq +man boost controler set up

Hy guys,

I did a full non seq conversion and I'm going to control boost with a manual controller.

The diagrams I have show this in a very unclear way so maybe someone has a picture of his set up. More in particular the connection in the area of the primary turbo inlet.

Thanks

Using a manual boost controller was not recommended to me by my tuner. I believe the reason was something about the pill in the controller not regulating the most accurate for our set ups.

I was doing this for a maxed out stock twin build 2 years ago. Spending the money sucks, but getting an electronic boost controller is well worth is for this set up IMO.

I run the AEM TruBoost and it saves a ton of hassle. Best of luck.

So a man. boost controller is not reccommened, is this because boost sreep cannot be controlled properly?

Which is the most commonly used for non-seq. setup?

I used an MBC to return my boost levels to 10 psi after full non-seq conversion with no problems (since I pulled the pills). The MBC is spliced into the vacuum line running from the wastegate actuator to the boost source (see pic). Your MBC manual should tell you which end of the MBC receives the boost source and which goes to the actuator.

I wouldn't use an MBC with a sequential system due to the complex nature of the system and the need for accurate control during the transition (eg boost spike). On the other hand, I don't see a problem with using an MBC for non-seq purposes since no transition means no boost spike. Secondly, boost creep cannot be cured with any type of boost controller. Boost creep is caused by having too much air flow (eg full exhaust, etc). If there is more air than the wastegate can re-route around the turbo when at full target boost, then unwanted air goes into the turbo causing an increase in boost over the target boost level. You can only remedy boost creep by porting your wastegate (allowing it to re-route more air), adding some backpressure in the exhaust (restrictor plates) or by tuning for an increased boost that you can keep it down to.

Sorry. Loooooong post.

thanks, I had the wastegate machined for more flow to handleboost creep so that's isn't the problem.

I have a MBC with 3 connections so I need to cap one of them.
One line is coming from the actuator, going to the prim turbo inlet.
That was my idea.

thats the reason most get boost controllers while running the seq setup...so they can add mods and still keep stock boost. it just takes a little adjusting
