No Turbo Timer??

I have searched the site and have seen conflicting opinions. On a 93, is a turbo timer necessary? If not, what are my other options? I am very interested in prolonging the life of the turbos...

A turbo timer is not necessary, in fact, I consider them evil devices. Unless you are running the fans, your water and oil temps climb way up just sitting there idling. Our turbos are water and oil-cooled, they really don't need a long cool down period.

The best ways to prolong turbo life:

*get a downpipe
*get a more effective intercooler
*run the stock 10 psi
*use synthetic motor oil
*just drive easy for a minute or two after hard boosting, let the car idle with the A/C set to 3 for a minute or two before shutting down
