No signal to primary coils at all?

This la started a couple of nights back when I decided to solder the wires for the primary coil to the wires for the igntion amp. Before that I wa sgetting signal just fine and all that after I was done....Dead....no primary signal at all. Biggest problem is it the same story with 2 diffrent ignition harnesses...The car will fire up but only on the secondary plugs. This is what I am wondering though, it shoudl fire up on just leading ones as well right? So......coudl I have burned or melted something in the main left side harness? The wires got pretty damn hot while I soldered....possible I messed something up somewhere?
