No problems just plain fun

Hey hows about just an enjoyable ride this morning. Since the temps climb towards the midday here in Arizona thought I would take my monthly jaunt to keep things working. Waited till day break since I typically get up before the sun and went into the garage, opened the door and climbed in. Key in ignition and boom fired right up. The idea is to back RX down the driveway since it is a bit loud and smoke a bit thick on lite up. Let car warm up a bit, close the garage door, oh and grab the fire extinguisher I took out yesterday to install the SakeBomb mount I had sitting around for a while waiting for my lazy *** to install.
Ok now that she is up to temps time to enjoy. Now the only thing bugging me is not taking my dog, he loves to ride but with the caveat I don’t drive too fast. He has trouble staying in the seat and keeping paws off the console at speed, so sorry CJ you stay home this time. He also gets a promise for a walk when I get home so he’s cool with that.
Now I live on the west side of Phoenix and it is great since there are some back roads close by. I drive at the speed limit on well-traveled road till my turn off. Good thing too as there was already someone pulled over, thankfully no me. Guy must have been doing something stupid since normally cops are cool. The road I am heading for is a left at the golf course and runs along the toe of the Estrella Mountains, an nice wide road, good pavement and just fun. I can open it up and feel unthreatening to man and beast. Front of car lifts and 7 grand time to shift grin and enjoy.
This road head towards the PIR (phoenix raceway) and there is no one around. Just a good morning to drive. I am heading East and miss my left turn off to go North, hell was having too much fun and since the turn is not well marked and my attention was on the tac drove past it a bit. No big deal a Uey and a right am good. Leave the car in 2nd and am at holding around 6 gs and for those looking for throttle response hey don’t even need to be in boost. Reminds me how smooth the rotary is especially away from that lumpy idle and how she hates low rpms plus the sound is great. Hit 3rd and see a couple out riding their horses out in the distance, slow down hit 4th and drive past slowly don’t want to spook the horses. Couple appreciate and wave. Wait, wait, wait OK far enough hit the gas and dam that simile show up again.
Time to head home an although it is a bit more built up on these roads it is still early morning and no one’s about. Pull into drive, get out and open garage door (yea on my list but no opener) edge car into garage, hook up battery tender, pop the hood for cooling and am happy. Oh yea dog gets his walk and is happy.

Thanks for posting OP.

Similar drive Saturday. Took off about 07:00 AM and ~ 75 F. driving the curvy scenic route to "Cars and Coffee". Low coolant temps and IAT's, boost coming on hard and next to zero traffic. Starbucks and cigar in hand, I wandered for a couple of hours with friends looking at a host of beautiful cars. Got alot of questions on mine too. By 9:30 I'm home before it's hot and watching my youngest mow the lawn. Just doesn't get any better than that.
