No more spoolin. Please help.
Last night I was in the process of taking apart my air box, just out of curiosity but it got dark and I stopped. Today I got off work kinda late and I had to rush home to get the RX7 to the Mazda dealer (key stuck, another story) so I hurriedly re-clamped all the hoses on the air box. I’m pretty sure I got them all but the large one closest to the hood was left attached but not clamped.
So, car started right up blah blah. I soon noticed at red lights that I was idling at like 200-300 but it was steady. After that I noticed that I did not hear my turbos! My boost gauge is not totally installed (got the car very recently) and it is sitting on the driverside floor, so I could not get a reading while driving. My vacuum was low because the idle was so low, but when I revved it up to normal idle it was at 16. No smoke either.
So why is the primary turbo not spooling. I’m getting no boost
Thanks for your help
BTW mods (that I know of) Downpipe, PFS Purple ECU

Have you even bothered to look under the hood to make sure everything is attached properly? From your post, it doesn't sound like it!
Most likely you forgot to attach something, or knocked something off. Take a look, and report back.
I hate it when people go to fix something that isn't broken, then it is broken after they fixed it.

I agree w/ Adam C. I can understand you rushing, but your careless quick reassembly could be the cause of a million things. Take a good look around, I think the problem will solve itself.

The "large hose closest to the hood" is the intake for the secondary turbo. But the turbos will spool propely without hoses attached, all the hoses do is direct air from the filter to the turbo. They will draw in unfiltered air, which is bad, but they'll work fine. So this is not the cause of your problem.
More than likely, something else was jarred loose in the process. Disassemble the intake again, and look for loose/disconnected hoses.

Shouldn't i at least hear the turbos? I thought unless they are really broken they would spin.spool, but i don't hear them at all.

Could you hear them before? I know I couldn't really "hear" mine until both the intake and the downpipe were on. But yes, they should still be spinning.

Hell I cant hear mine now, could be due to the full exhaust and being non-seq, lol. I know they are working though which is all that really matters. In regards to your problem, well I would bet something popped off somewhere or your wastegate/prespool solenoids suddenly took a **** which is highly unlikely. Good luck with the search!!

yes i could here them loud and clear before...(stock muffler and main cat). I could even hear them come alive during that accelerated warm up 3000rmp idle stage. Where is the wastegate and pre-spool soleniods?
-thanks for the help

One other thing to check is your wastgate and pre-control actuators.
They're located right underneath the front turbo. You'll prolly have to get underneath the car and take down the skid plate to see them. They look like a pair of bells, with rods extending towards the rear of the car. The top one is the WG, the bottom is the PC. Make sure that the rear of the arms are still attached to the "gates," and that they move back and forth.

just plain and simple, just getting no boost right now. im about to go underneath and check the wastgate and pre-control actuators. Car is pissed off to, lil backfires (i guess because the ECU is expecting boost right)
