No E-Brake Light

When i start the engine the e-brake light comes on the right side of the warning lights. But when i engage the e-brake it does not come on. Where is the sensor or wires that need to be checked for this?

Pull the center console up and you'll see a wire attached to the e-brake handle. It has a small spring attached to it. I think it's a black or brown wire. You can miss it.
