No coolant in throttle body coolant line???

I installed a water temp gauge this weekend. I put it in line with the top throttle body coolant line. When I had it all hooked up I noticed it really didn't move.

Anyway, I ended up starting the car with that line unplugged to see if coolant was flowing and none came out, even after a minute or so of running.

I can feel that the hose is still connected to the motor in the back and the other throttle body line is still connected too.

I haven't owned the car very long, but it runs completely fine.

Coolant should be running through the line continuously right?

Thanks,
-ray

If have changed the coolant.
did you burp the cooling system?

Burping is normally done, after you ever take the coolant out.
Run the engine for 10 minutes, fill coolant, and continuously until all air is out of the system.
you may need to do this after your install too.
This burping, brings the water level high all the way to TB.

Dude if you burp it that way it will take a week. Fill the filler neck up and then grab the lower rad hose and sqeeze the hell out of it a bunch of time, the collant will go away and you put some more in,and keep doing this until you cant add and more coolant. It might take a while. But it will take less than doing the hot car thing. Then the hose on the Tb get a wet vaccum and suck the **** out if it when its running then throw it back on, and yoiur done

Try pulling the TB coolant hose off, and filling up the coolant in the filler neck. If it won't take anymore coolant, and none is coming out of that line, you could put a pressure tester on the filler neck, and pump it up until you got coolant to come out.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

So, you all think it is just a big air bubble or something that I need to work out?

I'll probably just do the long burping process this week as part of my commute. Then yank on the radiator hose like suggested this weekend.

Thanks,
ray

Actually, it's just a whole bunch of little air bubbles.........

Fill it up everyday, it will take just a little each time, and do it in the morning when it is stone cold.

If it never stays full you've got a leak somewhere.
