Buy a new car that has bi-level (mix) heat functionality. The FD (and most other 93-95 cars) don't.

IOW - it ain't broke, so there's nothing to fix. It's working as it was designed.

Having heat blasted in your face tends to make the driver less attentive/sleepy, which is why the system is designed as it is.

This question comes up a few times every winter and people always insist it's "broke". Nobody has ever read the owner's manual?

Neither Haynes or Chiltons makes a manual for the 3rd Gen. They stopped after the second gens.

Where are you looking? You can buy it for under $100 from Mally or Mazdaformance or download it in PDF format for free.
