No Boost......

I have searched through the threads and found only one thread that matched my problem but was never updated with a fix.

To give a little background the car has never boosted the correct 10-8-10. I have found that the previous owner replaced vac lines incorrectly. In any case the car boosted 7-5-7 if I remember correctly. It's been a few weeks since I have driven the car.

The reason I have not driven the car is I found a coolant leak on the rear of the waterpump housing. After re-installing everything I started the car to test for leaks and this is when I noticed that the vac on the boost gauge changed. It used to read 15 but is now about 11. When I give it gas it hits about 10 then goes to about 20 all on the vaccum side. I have tried the propane trick to detect leaks but there seems to be no change on any of the hoses or lines that I try to test. I have also retraced all the hoses that I had removed and reinstalled them. Current mods are HKS intake,DP and CB.

Sorry for the long post........Thanks for all the help in advance... BTW car is a 93' R1

This pattern is what you would get if you removed the pills out of the control lines. Hence, you might make sure that someone didn't replaced this two lines and inadvertantly overlook the pills in them...

I think your right about the pills.....But at this point I'm looking to get back the 7 #'s of boost that I had before before I try and tackle the problems of hitting 10 #'s of boost. Right now if I rev the car it just gets more vaccum.

I have not driven the car yet. Would it be ok to drive the car with this problem? Any help on this issue would be great.

Uh, you're not really making sense here. You're saying the car has never had the correct 10-8-10 boost pattern, only 7-5-7. First indications are that the pills are missing from the wastegate and pre-control lines. Fix that problem, and see if you get the correct boost pattern.
Don't worry about how much boost you get while revving in neutral. That means absolutely nothing at this point.

I don't have the pills in mine and my turbos work fine. I would take the plenum off, get the color vacuum line diagram from this forum and trace each line, one at a time. I took the diagram to Kinkos, had it blown up and laminated. I had a problem where my second turbo wasn't spooling at al. I had a couple lines mixed up. I know you have probably looked at it a thousand times. So, one more time wouldn't hurt. Good luck brother.

Thanks for the reply....I have a feeling I know why my car is not boosting the correct 10 #'s. To be honest I have no idea as to what my car is boosting right now in it's current state. Would the car be ok to drive as is?

If it's not boosting correctly, then it's doubtful you would hurt it by finding out what it's actually boosting at instead of guessing...
