Nipples on oil filler neck...
I was just wondering what would happen if you capped of both nipples on the oil filler neck. Just wondering because I need to make a catch can for that reason and I believe that those nipples work off of vaccum....?
Thanks, jamie

1) You blow the dipstick out and throw oil all over the inside of your engine bay when it vents
2) the pressure cause the oil pan gasket to start leaking. And once they start leaking they don't stop. Major PITA to fix.
and or
3) front cover gasket starts to leak = # 2 above x10

Yeah, you never want to block off nipples permanently. I personally like exposed nipples on females. They need to breath and all that...

Happy holidays
You can install a catch can on the other end of that line where it plugs into the primary turbo inlet elbow. This will aid with the blow-by problem. That could be the reason for the smoke, but it could also mean that the turbos are toast.

It Stopped Smoking After I Lifted The Uim Last Night And Re-checked Everything. I Also Think That I May Have Fixed My Performance Problem With The Installation Of The New Low Mileage 2ndary Injectors From Cam At Pettit. Car Seems To Pull Like It Should Now But I Havent Really Pushed Too Much I Want To Make Sure That Everything Is Ok First With The New Injectors And Fuel Pulsation Dampener. I Do However Have A Small Hissing/gurgling Sound Coming From Underneath The Uim Sounds Very Small But Was Not There Before. No Problem With Idle Or Boost Pattern, No Moisture Is Visible And No Coolant Smell Or Leak. Dont Have A Clue What It Could Be That Leaks And Has Moisture, I Also Pondered The Thought Of It Being A Sucking Sound And Not A Leak. What I Mean Is If It Were A Coolant Leak It Would Spew Eveywhere Due To Being Under Pressure. But Being That The Uim And Components Are Under Vaccum It May Actually Be A Sucking/vaccum Leak That I Hear......

Where Is The Best Place To Put A Mock Up A Temporary Catch Can? Something Like A Coke Can Or Something Until I Can Order A Proper One W/breather From Pegasus Racing....
Wouldn't that mounting position result in any oil in the can sloshing backward and being sucked out (it looks as though you are pulling a vacuum through the can)? Or does the greddy can have a siphon tube going to the bottom (front in your case) of the can?
If no siphon you'd want to keep the nipple ou use for vacuum as far away from the oil level as possible, in other words: vertical.

^LOL, I never thought of that!!
always nice to hear other people's point of view. I've had it in there for about 5k miles, and checked the level today, hardly anything in there...so I've been lucky not to "suck" some juice up.
guess, I'll turn it around.

hope this helps........have the same catch can but its installed vertical. i also tapped the bottom and installed a ball valve to drain it when it is full. i tapped the top of the oil filler cap because it is the highest point and therefore i would have less oil going into the catch can. also the nipples on the stock riser are facing the wrong direction and i would have to have alot of unwanted hose to get to my catch can
