Newbie Racer.. Questions!!
I just bought a 1993 RX-7. They took off the small twin turbo set up .... Now the car as a t70 Ballbearing turbo with 3inch exaust, big intercooler, turbo timer, boost controller. The car ran 320 HP at the wheel on the dyno at 7 lbs of boost. The car as more mod but since i just bought it... im not quite sure about the rest.
I a newbie in the rotary engine world... its my first rx7 ... and i dont know this mecanic at all.
There are 2 questions id like to ask you guys... you will probably know those answer.
My car in idle... turn around 2 000 RPM... Is it normal??? I dont know if rx7 are suppose to idle that high .. or if its because of my turbo set up... or if its just not good at all.. any tips would be nice.
Also its my first turbo car... when im at a red light... i start with full trottle... the rpm drop one shot to 1000 rpm... the car move slowly and then it launch like crazy... the lack of power when starting is normal??? I heard about turbo lag but it look like a pretty big lag... the car seam to kick back before lauching ..its weird..
well that it for the moment .. ill go back driving and check for other weird question i could ask!

i had a similar problem with my idle it was around 1500rpms. check the screw underneath the TB and check your throttle cable, it may be a bit tight. could be something else, but that was the problem i had

LOL. Té crissment drole toi.
Guys everyone from Tsukuba to Spa Francochamps knows that there is a french Rx-7 website, aka my club website www.clubrxquebec.com.
BTW about Quebecers being too poor to own FD's well I got about 7 guys I know offhand in a 50 km radius from me that would like to disagree with you.
Pis ton idle est juste pas normale parce que tu part le char en neutre. Donne lui un petit blip de throttle pis ca va ce reglé.
Also the fact that it drops to 1,000 rpm is not normal at all. Your car needs some TLC.
Bonne chance and come check out the website,
Alex
BTW Sorry dudes for the French
