I think what you were asking earlier was what internal mods need to be done for high hp. In reality, there isn't much that can or needs to be done to handle high hp. There are hardened stationary gears, race clearenced bearings and a gamut of apex seals. That's about it.

How much money do you guys spend on mantiance for the rx-7?? just curious on what im going to be looking at for the mantiance.. i heard its pretty bad

...Its a complex equation that Mazda engineers came up with years ago... Regardless of how complex it seems it contains very few actual components. It also really depends on if you consider time, blood, sweat, and tears a monetary asset/

well here is the deal if you want just plain numbers:
Streetported Engine $3000-4000 from a reputable builder
Single Turbo $2500-3500
Standalone ECU - $1200-$1400 (don't forget the datalogit if you are using the PFC $400)
Fuel system upgrade $700-800
Clutch upgrade $400-500
Midpipe $150-250 (or since you are in cali high flow cat $400-500)
Catback Exhaust $400-600
Wideband O2 $400-500
Intercooler $800-$1500
Radiator $400-500
Aluminum AST $150 (I guess you can do the AST elim mod and save that money)
Various and Sundry Gauges to keep an eye on things $600-800
Tuning $300-400
So many other small things I are difficult to calculate from car to car, vacuum hoses, replacement parts, etc.
I think on the low end you can plan on spending $11-12K to get where you want to be. On the high end $15K+. If you are smart buy used and shope around you can probably do it for about $9-10K. This is doing all the work yourself. (note: i didn't actually crunch my own numbers just a quick estimate)
I think I calculated once and I will have about $20K+ into my car ON TOP of the purchase price. That is including wheels, suspension, and various other things, which I am sure you will wanna do at some point too(unless you like the sleeper look[if that is even possible in and FD]). I have tried to be conservative and wait for the right deals and have save a lot of $$$ going with slightly used items. If you do it in a hurry I could see you easily adding another $5K on top of that. With FDs running anywhere from about say $12-14K in good stock shape. My recommend would probably be to try and find one with the engine already blown and save yourself some $$$.
In other words stick with the neon if you want cheap thrills.
