Newbie needs a lot of help!!!

I am having problems with my 93'. The dash board lights dont turn on anymore neither does the radio light when i turn the headlight on. When I turn the headlights off the secondary lights do not turn off.. I have starting problems where my battery will die if I dont drive the car for several days. I have the Odeyssey mini battery kit in my car. That might be why the battery drains quickly. But I need help with my lights. Any help on how to fix these problems will be appreciated. Right now my lights are still on and my car is off. NEED HELP ASAP THANK YOU.

It sounds like you connected something wrong during your battery install (for lack of better information... you don't mention what you changed recently or how long the problem has been going on) and probably fried your combination switch. That's the two "arm" switch assembly under your steering wheel which controls your headlights, parking lights, turn signals, and wipers. That would probably explain why your parking lights (secondary lights?) aren't turning off any more.

Bottom line, if these problems are recent and/or a result of something you did, then you should probably take the car to a professional. Either way, get your car to a Mazda dealership (or whoever you trust to work on it) and get it fixed.

BTW, this is not an advanced tech topic.
