newbie needs advice!!!

A friend just recently told me he would sell me his rx7 for $500 and i am interested in making it into a drift car what performance mods should i do first what should i avoid and what is the best place to get parts and information on my car

I got my 94 for 2,500 with new rebuild engines 3Mm APEXES and Single Turbo kit
500 isn't that good of a deal unless it has 15000 miles on the body or lower
