"Newbie" first post

Hello all. This is my first posting though I have been surfing through the threads the last few months for information. Thanks to all who have provided insight which has been proven to be invaluable. Just picked up my 93 Black Base model (82K miles, and I'm the original owner) from Ray Wilson at PF Supercars after an engine rebuild. Can't say enough about his knowledge and quality work. Thanks to all of you who enabled me to be informed and to be involved in the rebuild process. If you live within a light year of his shop keep him in mind for any kind of work. jhw

Welcome! Care to share what you've done to your car? Any pictures? Glad to hear your rebuild experience with PFS was a good one, I can only imagine it won't take long to break it in with that many miles as the original owner!

I live in Frederick. Found out through forum that PFS was opening ten miles away. Pulled into driveway last January spitting coolant all over engine. Found hose off of AST, so took the car to dealer just to check things out (yeah....I know.....I'm a moron) They diagnosed it as needing new turbos! "That'll be $8k please". It was the coolant seals. Waited for Ray to get things up and running and have no complaints about his work. He did a complete engine rebuild and replaced vacuum hoses with silicon ones. New AST, clutch plate and boost gauge. Today and tomorrow I'll be out pricing body and paint work, and new tires and rims are in the offering, too. No plans to do major engine mods as I am a laid back driver. Well......at least I was a week ago! Will post before and after pics as soon as things are all done.
Again, thanks to all of you for your posts and information. jhw

Yeah, that's probably their solution to any problem.

Lumpy idle? You need a brand new motor.
Map sensor unplugged? Need new motor.
Boost problems? Need new sequentials.
Smoke at idle? Need new precat.
Car overheating? New radiator.

They make money from the OEM markup + labor fee

jhwagner, if you want the absolute best in body in paint work, w/ someone who owns TWO FDs, and has worked on literally hundreds of them, I'd take the car to Dan Rose @ Mr Spoiler in Manassas (www.mrspoiler.com). He's located right next to Bret Pedro's Rotary Performance, Mitch Piper's Piper Motorsports, and the old PFS used to be. So you can only guess where all the experience w/ RX7s has come from
