New to the World of Rotary's
Hello guys, I think im ready to do it, I want my own RX-7. I've been a Nissan/Infiniti owner for years, but now Im ready for a change. I've always loved the style of the RX-7 and of course I can only imagine the powerful engine underneath it all.
Since Im am a Newbie, I was wondering if you could give me tips, advice, concerns, info, etc... on basicaly anything one should know before purchasing one.
I want a 3rd generation RX-7
Ive heard much about the life expectancy about these engines, so i will try to find one with as low mileage as possible. I see many on Autotrader, with "new motor" "rebuilt motor" Is this something I should fear? Should I stay away from anything that has been labled as that?
Right now since my first priority is to buy one, I really just need info on what to look for. Is there a particullar year that had more problems then others. Are there certain signs(sounds, leaks, etc...) that i should look for?
Remember this is the first time I've posted, I dont know anything, so any info would be greatly appreciated!
I hope soon I will be able to post pics of my new car soon!

Read the "newbie" stickie at the top of this forum, and check out the links thoroughly. You'll find all the information you'll need to find out if the FD is truly the car for you.

welcome !
it isnt the new engine or rebuilt engines you should be worried about, but rather if it is running well. There are so many problems that can occur, and inspecting the FD well before purchasing is the whole game. The stickies should have pages that show 'reliability mods' that show what you need to make sure that you dont get a 3d gen that blows up on you.
i am also looking to purchase an FD, so basically do what i do . research websites and use that search button to your advantage
have fun, these cars are off da hook !!
