Another great vid. What tires (size and brand) are you using on the yellow car? The funniest thing to me because of the way it looks is the gloves your wearing remind me of yard work gloves

Thanks again for the 4 minutes of video that made me want to get back on the track.

Tim

thanks tim :-)

well, before i was using the 285x30x18 kumo ecstas,... then a fellow cobraR racer told me to try used dulop GT racing tires ... so i did, and although the size currently available is almost a full inch narrower than the kumos, they have way more grip, .. i love em, and at $75 each they are relatively cheap in a dollar vs grip comparo.

ill post antoher thread with my tire source.

PS
those ARE yard work gloves!!! (hehehe)

just kiddin, they are longacre pit gloves.

sure, I think they are just the work gloves with stickers on them You get the tires (dunlop race rubber) at Tirerack or you have a hook up from somewhere else?

dont think you can get them at tirerack, I actually dunno where you get them if you wanted them new, but there are some guys that 'collect' used gt tires from GT race teams that just use the tires for qualifying or testing, basically they are just scrubbed in, bu the teams will not use them again, the toss em, so these guys pick em up and resell them to open track junkies.

I'll post my sources info soon in another thread.

this is my first season with the cym 93 yellow track car and so far its been relativly bullet proof (knocking on wood)... so was my mb 95 fd for 2 seasons. the biggest part of maintanance for me has been tires and brakes

..all the other stuff has been more like upgrades than cuz somthing broke.

I just posted this on the other lambo vid thread:

by the way guys, i want to point out that im not running a cabillion psi boost and making 2 zillion horsepower, you dont need all that much hp to be fast on a road cource, its more about suspention and handling balance and braking, and my track car was setup very well in that respect, ...yeas it has power too, but concider this, I only run 11-12 psi boost, that is probably between 330-350hp (based on its dyno number of 370 at 15 psi) and the car is plenty fast on road cource because of the suspention balance ad braking power.

... god forbid i turn on the boost controller and run 15psi ;-)

(next year maybe I will, im still learnign the car and dont need any more power right now)

Ok Damian, give us your secret recipe, what are your suspension set up? spring rate, ride height, sway bar, shocks, alignment settings. What are your corner weights?

i dunno total or corner weights, but ill do that soon, and ride height is about 25" front and a little higher in back.

the underbelly tray i made myself with the help of Noah at speedlab (a local speed shop)
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...9&page=2&pp=15

the exhaust is the RS*R gt 2 or whatever its called (heheh).

hehehe thank you son for me jim :-)

I hit ~160 right before the turn 1 at BIR and go through turn one at 140-150 ish, i have no idea the top speed, but i know I have a lot of RPM left at 160 and its pulling pretty good right before I tap the brakes for turn one.

there is another video showing a speedo overlayed on the video, its a few down on my movies page: http://www.myrx7.com/movies
