New top speed speedo

I'm trying to find a different speedo for my rhd FD. The stock one is km per hour and only goes up to 180. As you can guess.. I need it to go up further than that! That's only like 115mph or something! lol

I've found some night sports and feed and RE and mazdaspeed speedo's but my QUESTION IS:

i assume that the odometer on the stock speedo will not transfer to the aftermarket one since I do wish to have the accurate mileage or rather kilometers since they are pretty low.

Does anyone know if the odometer is specific or whatnot?

Thanks!

I know whatever comes on the tach is whats on it. It doesnt change when you plug it into your car. As for re-calibrating it im sure it can be done i just dont know how to do it.

hmmm. recalibrating.. i didn't think about that. I figured there had to be some kind of security feature to prevent that since if it was able to be done... all of us would have low mileage FD's

I was thinking that you could just maybe take the odometer screen out of the original speedo and put it on the new one..But i've never taken out my dash gauges so I don't know if that would be possible.

The mileage that is on the speedo is independent of the speedo. So, whatever mileage the speedo has is the mileage shown. Worse comes to worse, you keep the old speedo, then put it back in when you have inspection or need to sell it. BTW, I have a FEED 300kph speedo for sale: https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-rx-7-1993-2002-parts-99/feed-300-km-h-speedo-craftsquare-addons-knightsports-intake-usdm-tach-862560/

Most people here keep the JDM speedo & just convert it to Mph - Its a pretty simple conversion IIRC

haha thanks for explaining it. lol

I'm not worring about the kph, I want to keep it JDM. but I AM sick of always have the damn speedo pegged at 180kph+

But I do want to keep the correct millage. hmm. I'll guess I'll try some more Research and Development. lol
