AZ A new stronger engine rises from the ashes, a true Phoenix in AZ

After purchasing my FD3S from an unfortunate engine burn, yes a true rescue, and finally being able to drive it after 5 years of gathering money and finding the best for my restoration project, I build I blow the motor on the very 1st day at the track. Couldn't blame the guy it was making over 400+ confirmed ponnies on the dyno on all original internals. But sad https://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/crying.gif This pic was taken in one of its final laps by a photographer that happen to see me as I screeched across the track at Firebird raceway in Wild Horse Pass in AZ

The new heart prepping for surgery, this bad boy has all the goodies you could possibly want! Elliot and Nick at Turblown.net put this together for me, they said this should do a big boom if it ever goes, especially now that were switching up to race fuel only. My old engine still pushed the car to their shop in North Phoenix a true trooper. Will always be remembered in my wall, now that is art I can understand.

will keep all posted on new mods, looking to do a full dual oil cooler upgrade and Ron Davis radiator.

I was going to post that I was sad to hear of your engine's demise, but then I saw pics of the new setup

Looking very sharp. Should have no problem keeping those Vettes in check.

Turbo specs ?

He has a 1.15 turbine a/r

Funny thing is he was pulling away from that vette with only 1 rotor!

7th video down is his stock engine @ 22psi pump gas/water injection
Was making 400ft lbs of torque @ 4400rpms
22psi by 3400rpms

probably faulty tuning, since it was a new engine i doubt it was a fuel issue that arose as soon as it pulled off the dyno.

Could have also been high intake temps from being on the track.

The engine was showing issues during tuning, they said it was hurt and wasn't gonna last too long. Cause of this tuning only went so far and also knowing that the engine wouldn't last I decided to push up its good bye in the track.

That's one of our best selling turbos kits. The only thing we've changed is the turbo manifold, his setup is about 4 years old. If you look in that video gallery there is an fc making even more torque at a little big higher boost on methanol.
