New Side seals are 2/16" longer than originals

Got my rebuild kit from atkins about a couple weeks ago and finally got time to start on the rotors. Well come to find out the side seals are about 2/16" longer than my original ones. The original side seals fit perfectly within spec. So why not just use the originals side seals as they are in reusable condition right? Well one was broke accidently, and a second was broken to be used as a cleaning tool. And besides I wanted to use only new parts. So has any rebuilder encountered this issue. I'll contact atkins monday, but until then.......

They're all like that. In the FSM it shows how to grind them down.

And BTW, when you get them within tolerances, get them towards the lower end (.002" IIRC). You'll have better compression.

I was thinking about grinding them, but well I figured they are new they should fit perfectly. Thanks very much for the information, I will have to look into it.
