New Rx7

Hey, I live in nj. Just purchased a fd. But the thing that makes it great was the trip. I went to kentucky on a greyhound which ended up being a 19 hour trip. The guy who I purchased the car from was a great seller and drove the car car 700 miles to hamilton, nj. Hopefully everything goes well. The car is running strong and is in great condition overall. BTW here are the pics http://www.rtky.com/rx7/

Nice car!

Love the black leather, its rare and much better than tan!

Whats the mileage, and how much did you pick it up for?

The trip sounds like hell, but maybe you like being shoved in a small space for 19 hours??

The paint looks great

Congratulations and welcome to the club!

The car looks very good, especially the paint considering it's a 93. If it runs well, looks like you did well for yourself.

BTW, your muffler's looking a little castrated there. Time to get a cat-back.

Very nice find. Good looking vehicle.

I am an original owner of an 1987 Sport and looking for a 3rd gen.

Just curious, how did you find your car?

guygordon- I found the car here on the forum about 2 weeks ago and I've been talking to the previous owner ever since.

Im gonna see if I can find some black leather or black cloth replacements here on the forum. Its just the drivers seat that is bad.

look up leather in the phone book. I found several places where I live that were willing to re-furbish both seats for under 100 bucks..

so is that a touring with a spoiler? anyways thats a very nice paint job, no way thats original. I dont think the red 93's were that shiny the first time I saw one at the mazda dealer in late 92.

the paint job is beautiful. I definitely have to take new pics of the car washed and waxed. I liked black before but red is just a great color specially on an fd. It is a touring bee.

if all you want to do is to re-dye or refurbish the leather, then go to a shoe repair shop and buy some black leather spray paint and some saddle soap. Take the seats out and grab a bucket of water and a sponge and start rubbing with the saddle soap. That should get rid of all the grease and dirt off of the seat and make them real soft. Next, spray the leather paint on the seats evenly with a few coats. Wait 15 minutes in between. You'll be surprise of the result. :o)
